The map shows like is the usual case of areas of population being in close proximity to sightings/reports, what surprises me about it is the lack of anything in the cork area  .
What is the basic time frame of the map ?
Its a good usefull edition to the website i think.

The map currently is showing all closed cases, which may be why there isn't may markers for Cork. Any cases that are actively being investigated wont be shown on the map.

There will be further functionality soon enough.
